ANR National Awards Will Be Presented To Sri Devi and Rekha By Megastar Chiranjeevi – Akkineni Nagarjuna

The ANR National Award is one of the most prestigious awards in the Film Industry and was instituted by the Akkineni International Foundation in honor of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The award will get presented to a person for their lifetime achievements and contributions to the Indian film industry. Popular Bollywood actor Dev Anand got the first award in 2006. Recently in 2017, ‘Baahubali’ director SS Rajamouli got the award. For the year 2018, the award will honour veteran actress Sridevi where as Rekha got honored with the award for 2019. Along with the awards, the duo will also be given prize money of 5 lakhs. Both the awards will be presented on November 17th by none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi. ANR National Award Committee Chairman, Kalabandu Dr. T. Subbarami Reddy said – The grand award ceremony of ANR National Award will be held on November 17 at Annapurna Studios. ANR is a great personality and a great man who will live on in the hearts of all generations. Not only as an actor but also as a great Human. When he received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award Akkineni Nageshwara Rao Garu said that he wanted to establish ‘ANR NATIONAL FILM’ and whether he is alive or not the award will be presented to prominent film personalities every year. The first ANR National Award was given to Renowned Actor, Director Devanand in 2006. In 2017 Director Rajamouli received the award. The award will be presented to Sridevi for 2018 and to Rekha for 2019 . It is Nageshwar Rao’s wish to present the award to Mahanati Sridevi. Likewise, Rekha, a Telugu girl, has became a prominent actor nation-wide. The award presentation ceremony will be held in a grand manner on November 17th at Annapurna 7 acres. I whole heartedly appreciate Nagarjuna for fulfilling his father’s wish and continuing the tradition of honouring great personalities like Amitabh Bachchan and SS Rajamouli in the past years.”

Akkineni Nagarjuna said – As Subbarami Reddy garu said, this award is the most prestigious award for us. This is my father’s wish. We will continue presenting the awards. Subbarami Reddy garu is one of the reasons behind this award’s success. There is a peculiar quality in Subbarami Reddy garu. He was a close friend to my father and now he became a close friend to me too. He became a fatherly figure for our family after our Father left us. My Father always wishes that Subbarami Reddy garu will remain as the Board Chairman of this Award. I am happy to do this program with his guidance. Annapurna College of Film and Media which was launched by Amitabh Bachchan garu is completing seven years. It has grown day by day and became an International School. Many International students have became a part in the institute. There are about 450 students. We began to conduct their graduation ceremony along with this Award presentation. Amitabh Bachchan and Rajamouli have presented Graduate Certificates to some students. About 70 students will be presented their certificates by Rekha garu this year. Boni Kapoor and family members are attending the event and to take the award on behalf of Sridevi. When we called Rekha garu she said that she had shared a very good bond with my Father and He also mentored her in film industry. She said she will surely attend the event. Megastar Chiranjeevi will be the chief guest of this event.Along with the award both the awardees will be given 5 Lakhs rupees.”
