Chief Secretary to inaugurated Special Training Program for Overseas Nursing Jobs

Chief Secretary to Government of Telangana, Shri Somesh Kumar, IAS, today inaugurated a special training programme for the pilot batch of nursing candidates selected from Telangana for overseas job placements in Japan at the Telangana State Institute for Rural Development, Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad.
As per directions of Hon’ble CM K. Chandra Shekar Rao, this pilot training programme was organized as part of the special drive launched by the Government of Telangana to upskill and facilitate overseas employment opportunities for nursing graduates and paramedical staff from the state in developed countries like Japan, USA, Canada, UK, Germany and Australia.
The programme is being organised by Telangana Overseas Manpower Company Limited (TOMCOM) in partnership with Navis Human Resources Pvt Ltd. TOMCOM is a registered recruiting agency of Government of Telangana with a mandate to provide training and overseas job placements for the youth of Telangana. Navis is a recognized sending organisation that is empanelled with both Government of India and Government of Japan for recruiting semi-skilled and skilled professionals from India. Once the successful completion of training & placement, candidates can get a salary of upto Rs. 16 Lakhs per annum and can save up to 1 lakh per month.
TOMCOM had earlier organised a screening test at Gandhi Medical College on 15 December 2022 to shortlist eligible candidates for the training programme. Commencing the course for the first batch of 25 selected candidates today at TSIRD, Telangana Chief Secretary Shri Somesh Kumar said “there is a large demand for nursing staff in many developed countries like Japan. The State government is taking several training and capacity building initiatives to position Telangana as the ‘skill capital of India’ particularly in the healthcare sector and tap the huge job market in foreign countries. Telangana government is pursuing partnerships with government as well as recognised private agencies in several countries to provide highpaying job opportunities for qualified nurses, particularly those from poor socio-economic background, and facilitate their recruitment through safe, fair and ethical channels of migration.” Assuring all possible support from the State government, he encouraged the students to develop a global outlook, work hard to hone their skills and aspire to take up international carriers.

The training course is scheduled for 6 months during which Japanese language and nursing care skills will be imparted to the candidates. All those who successfully pass the language proficiency test and skill assessment at the end of 6 months will get a nursing care job in Japan. All placement related activities like job offers, interviews, exam preparation, visa and immigration procedures as well as post-arrival orientation in Japan will be facilitated as part of the programme.
